What does The Orbisbox do?

The Orbisbox is a mobile sensory pedagogical tool, which is easily transported from room to room. (A transportable Snoezelen-room)

The Orbisbox gives stimuli from the adjustable sides, giving a light pressure on the body and activating the tactile senses. Does the user need shielding and minimizing of the external surroundings the Orbisbox also adapts to this. Both light and sound therapy is integrated in the Orbisbox and can be adjusted according to the user’s needs. All functions are adjustable and can be switched on/off according to individual needs. The different functions can be controlled via a symbol menu on a touch panel on the front of the Orbisbox.

The experience and evidence we have collected during the past three years shows that most users find a sense of calmness and better body awareness.

  • The Orbisbox is equipped with PUR-foam mattresses covered in durable fabric, which can be washed at 90 degrees Celsius. The fabric can also be disinfected.
  • The resting plate is operated through a pull-out system, making it accessible to users with walking impairments. It is also possible to use a lift to place the user on the resting plate and then returning it to the Orbisbox.
  • The side plates are also covered with PUR foam, which shapes itself to the body via pressure.
  • The Orbisbox is mobile and fits through most regular doorways.
